Forlorn Hope (plural forlorn hopes)

1. (Military) A small troop picked to make an advance attack, or the first attack; a storming party.

[An advance guard of troops sent on a hazardous mission.]


2. Any dangerous or hopeless venture.

3. A paintball team established from active and former refs of black river paintball who have come together to form Forlorn Hope. a team that has become well respected on and off the feild for there exploits, personality, and sportsmanship
